B.HSc-Acup; Cert. IV-TCMRM (Acupressure); Cert. II-Shiatsu Therapy

  • Acupuncturist
  • Acupressure practitioner
  • Shiatsu therapist
  • Traditional Chinese herbalist

Jason is a qualified Acupuncturist graduating from the internationally recognised Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) in Brisbane, with a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture and Certificate IV in Traditional Chinese Medicine Remedial Massage (An Mo Tui Na).

His Bachelor Degree incorporated multiple facets of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), such as traditional diagnosis techniques of tongue observation and pulse palpation, Acupuncture treatment, massage therapy, Chinese exercise therapy, traditional Chinese dietary advice and prescribing of patented Chinese Herbal formulas.

Having a deeply keen interest in all forms of massage therapy, Jason has also studied traditional Japanese Shiatsu massage under the private tutorage of Michie Araki, a Shiatsu Master and practitioner of more than 30 years.
Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese style of massage using similar principles of Chinese Medicine and massage, to unblock the energetic pathways of the body. It involves the application of varying degrees of pressure applied to specific points on the body, combined with gentle stretching to release the tension and pain from muscles and joints. Traditionally this treatment is performed on a thin mat on the ground but Jason has adapted his technique to suit the modern clinic room.

Jason has had a long association with various forms of martial arts in his life and has trained extensively in the internal moving meditation arts of Tai Chi and Qi Gong, trained by Grandmaster Sifu Henry Sue. Both these ancient Chinese exercise therapies work on the fundamental principle of using breath and gentle movement to detoxify and energise the body on a cellular level. They work on removing “bad air” and toxins in the body and calming the nervous system through reducing both heart and breathing rate. Many of these techniques are discussed, displayed and prescribed for his clients to add to their therapy.

Clinically, Jason follows the TCM protocol of treating you as an individual and tailoring treatment and advice to address you specifically. Diagnosis is directed toward the way each individual is presenting with each condition and treatment is then directed at treating the signs and symptoms for immediate relief and most importantly establishing the primary cause of the condition. He believes in a holistic approach to health, with principles based on therapeutic treatment, herb and vitamin supplementation, dietary advice and lifestyle and exercise changes.

He has had a long association and interest in Health and Complementary Medicines and is a caring, devoted and enthusiastic practitioner.
